Band / Crew of "The Touring Dead" Tour // For All I Am, Tear Out The Heart, Famous Last Words
Out with Famous Last Words once again for The Touring Dead, with Tear Out The Heart and For All I Am.
JT called me up a few weeks before the tour was suppose to start and asked if I wanted to come out and do photography / videography for their upcoming co-headliner. I usually come out with them and work the merch duties, but FLW is in the process of completely re-amping everything, and they needed good media coverage throughout the entire tour.
This was my 5th tour with FLW, so its like family anytime I go out with them. The guys had just recently gotten a new guitar player from Tampa, Evan, and he was scheduled to pick up our rental van from Tallahassee, so he came and scooped me up on the way, we picked up the van and drove to northern Michigan to JT’s house.
Spent about a week of pre-pro up in Michigan before we loaded up the van and trailer and started tour. The guys ended up waiting too long to get a normal 15-passenger from band-a-go, so we ended up getting a rocket-ship, which is a Mercedes sprinter van they gutted out and put a lounge and 5 bunks. So it was pretty comfortable.
I’ve toured with Tear Out The Heart before, so I was pretty stoked to meet back up with those guys, and I’ve never met For All I Am, but I’ve heard nothing but great things about those guys, so I was excited to meet everyone the first day.
The entire tour ended up being one big hangout. Everyone already knew everybody so from day 1 until the last day was just full of hangs.
Overall the tour went really well. All these bands are on the rise, so some shows had quite a few people, some didn’t. Which is cool, and all these artists know they have to grind and stay on the road, which is respectable. The best part is everyone has the same mindset on these types of tours; they would rather hustle and grind on these headlining runs, get their sets perfected that better and better each tour, than to just be thrown into big tours and fail or not get the fan-base they need. They want to earn their success, not have it be handed to them.
